Activision has announced that over the next nine months, Modern Warfare 3 players can expect 20 content drops, arriving first for Call of Duty: Elite members. The first content pack will be released on January 24 with multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later date. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, again, first on Xbox Live and then on PC and PS3 once the exclusivity period ends.

New Line Cinema has moved forward with a sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat film. According to Deadline, the martial arts fantasy action film's script will be written by Jeremy Slater. Slater's writing credits include the series Moon Knight, the film Uprising, and Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers. He also developed The Umbrella Academy for Netflix and was the creator and co-showrunner of The Exorcist on Fox. A reboot of the film series, Mortal Kombat made its international theatrical debut on April 8, 2021, before releasing in the US on April 23 in theaters and in the HBO Max streaming service and eventually rental services.

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus Premium will not support DLC and add-on content when streaming a title. This is according to a new PlayStation Plus guide posted on the PS Blog. What this means is that if you have DLC for a PS3 game, you won't be able to play the additional content, and the only way to play PS3 games is through streaming. But this will also be the case with any streaming title.

Hitman 3 is entering year two, and today, IO Interactive provided information on what to expect out of it. The London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices recently put on a performance of the soundtrack to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim to celebrate its tenth anniversary. As part of this concert, the orchestra also played a suite of music from upcoming Bethesda space game Starfield, making the concert one of the most complete glimpses into what the final game will sound like. Starfield Suite, which comprises of nearly ten minutes of new music, takes many cues from big space operas like Star Wars while having a sound all its own, swirling gentle moments in with its big, bombastic crescendos.
