Bloodborne journal, part 2: Snake? Snake?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

Bloodborne throws a lot of challenges at you, but few are as traumatising as the gosh-darned snakes. Bloodborne has a really excellent gating system, ramping the difficulty notch by notch, forcing you to learn new skills. After the fun and games of my initial wrestle with Bloodborne, things really kicked off. The day I beat the Cleric Beast I pushed on through to Father Gascoigne, whom the community have renamed Papa Guacamole, and got him down to less than 10 percent health before being slaughtered, mostly because I got a bit excited about my success and immediately became careless and cocky.

Learn how to defeat Abaddon, the Hooded Man - Victor Belmont, and Inner Dracula. Take out the enemies in the parking garage, then use Mist Power to move through the gate on the far side. Use a Dungeon Key in the hole at the end of the room, then offer Dracula's blood to obtain 2,000 experience points. Leave the hole and head right, through the gate. On the far left side of the garage is a Pain Box that holds a Chaos Gem.

Conan Exiles for game of the year, every year. Ding dong merrily on high! NSFW, obviously. Conan Exiles is generating a lot of hype as Early Access marketing goes for broke, but for some reason Funcom and its PR team failed to mentioned this amazing feature in any press releases sent to us: customisable, full-physics genitals. In a full report over on PC Gamer, editor Chris Livingstone details the dong slider in Conan Exiles' character customisation screen - even providing a GIF of the customisation in action, which he kindly gave us permission to share.

Diablo-like Magic: Legends shutting down after less than a year

Just a few months after the open beta's launch, Magic: Legends is shutting its doors. Magic: Legends, the free-to-play action RPG from Cryptic and Perfect World, will not be leaving open beta. That game's servers are going offline October 31. Previously announced console versions are also being cancelled. Cryptic broke the news in a blog post, saying that while servers will be live until the end of October, the Zen Shop premium store and the game's paid currency will be going offline today.

Halo Infinite had the biggest launch in Halo history

Microsoft announced during its Q2 2022 financials call to investors that Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 are very popular with players. During the call, Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella announced million of players have jumped into the latest iterations of the popular franchises. Halo Infnite for instance has over 20 million folks playing it, making the game the biggest launch in Halo history. Those figures aren't too surprising. The Steam crowd alone numbered 100,000 players when the game's multiplayer dropped in November.

It looks like Crytek's next game is a sandbox shooter

What's next for the house of Crysis? It would seem that Crytek is working on a sandbox first-person shooter. That's according to a job ad for the company's Frankfurt studio – as spotted by WCCFTech – which is hiring for an "unannounced AAA project" at the moment. One of the requirements for a game designer role the company is looking to fill is "Deep passion for gaming, preferably FPS sandbox games.

Batman: Arkham Origins set in 'year two' of canon, '1 vs 100' mode shown

It's been revealed that Batman: Arkham Asylum will take place in year two of the canon, which means he's still a wanted man. We've also had a sneak peak at the new 1 vs 100 game mode. Creative director Eric Holmes told VG247 that the game is set in year two, when Batman is not yet aligned with Gordon and the cops. The cops are all corrupt, and Gotham is absolutely riddled with crime.

Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 pulled from PlayStation Store, Sony offering full refunds [Update]

Cyberpunk 2077 owners that purchased CD Projekt Red's RPG on PS4 digitally are being offered a full refund. Update: CD Projekt Red has responded to the news on Twitter, confirming the removal. Interestingly, the company reminded players that they can buy the game at brick and mortar stores. It also noted that the team is working hard to bring the game back to the PlayStation Store.
