Nintendo tells Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Minecraft Steve to put his meat away in public

Nintendo has gone and... sanitised Minecraft Steve's victory screen in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Last week, Minecraft's Steve arrived in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It took just a couple of hours for players to figure out that one of his victory screens seems to show him holding his meat.

We, as many others, thought it was pretty funny. Steve is indeed chomping on that steak just before he slots into frame, which only made things more hilarious.

But Nintendo probably didn't see it that way, because update 9.0.1 removed the steak entirely. The patch notes don't mention anything about that change, of course, but it's the one players report did the trick.

As reported by Kotaku, nothing exists in the nether region now, which is a shame. The site even interviewed Xbox chief Phil Spencer about the original image, and didn't seem to be too pleased, suggesting that it's something likely to be fixed.

Oh! This reminds me!

I interviewed Phil Spencer on Wednesday via Microsoft Teams, not long after Steve was added to Minecraft and people noticed this image.

I focused questions mostly on Xbox stuff, but, hey, Microsoft owns Minecraft, so I had to ask.. https://t.co/9sEV63NiHs pic.twitter.com/jzutJdAvVZ
