One of the devs behind Sega RPG Skies of Arcadia "really really" wants to make a sequel

Twenty years after its launch on Dreamcast, could Skies of Arcadia be making a return?
Skies of Arcadia launched all the way back in 2000 - a turn-based RPG published by Sega for the ye olde Dreamcast and later for GameCube. While a sequel for the game was being planned in 2003, it never came to fruition and plans for a new title in the series were eventually put on hold indefinitely.
Now one of the original developers from studio Overworks has taken to Twitter to confirm a rumour that's been floating around on social media.
Developer Kenji Hiruta retweeted one user who claimed "[o]ne of the main devs for Skies of Arcadia is pushing people to ask for Skies of Arcadia to come back..."

Those interested in the autographed sketch simply need to follow his Twitter account and retweet his tweet. A winner will be chosen randomly at the end of the month.

An HD re-release of Overworks’ revered Dreamcast RPG has been teased by Sega before. In fact, Sega previously renewed the Skies of Arcadia trademark back in 2012. But once again, nothing came to light. In an interview with Kotaku last year, the game's former producer Rieko Kodama seemed to think its last iteration on GameCube was enough of a bookend for the game.
“I personally feel that [the GameCube’s] Skies of Arcadia Legends completed the 'director’s cut' of the title," she said at the time. "But I am honored when fans of the game who have become game developers themselves express interest in creating a sequel. It makes me happy to think of its legacy being passed on in this way.”
