Call of Duty: Warzone patch nerfs the Bruen MK9, FAL

Some of the balance tweaks everyone expected with the Season 5 launch of Call of Duty: Warzone are now here. Infinity Ward rolled out a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare. This is essentially a companion patch meant to implement a few balance changes, which were missing from the Season 5 patch. As expected, the update nerfs the Bruen MK9, though only in a single way. The LMG has had its damage range reduced.

The Mass Effect Remaster in Legendary Edition is excellent, but showy visuals overshadow some of the original’s mood and tone

As Remasters go, the version of the original Mass Effect included in the new Legendary Edition trilogy re-release has to be one of the better ones around. EA and BioWare rightly realized that the original Mass Effect was a creaky, awkward game in many respects - but also understood that many aspects that made it so were also things that made it special and unique. Mass Effect 2 and 3 are great games, make no mistake - but the trend towards more constrained level design and Gears of War inspired cover shooting that also allowed the series to chase a satisfying veneer of cinematic authenticity also came with a cost.

Monster Hunter World motion capture looks ridiculous

Monster Hunter World continues to produce the best motion capture footage of any game. Part of the reason why Monster Hunter World's monsters convincingly behave like wild animals about to ruin your day is that Capcom uses motion capture actors to form the basis of some the game's spectacular animations. We first had a look at this technique around the release of the original game, and Capcom has since continued relying on motion capture to bring the monsters in Iceborne to life.

Paradox is 'happy with the progress' on Bloodlines 2, but we still don't know who's developing it

It's not been an easy ride for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. During its development to date, the game has lost its narrative lead and its creative director, been delayed again and again, and been subject to scrutiny after veteran writer and narrative designer Chris Avellone had all content he created for the game removed after serious sexual harassment allegations were made against him by a number of people across the industry.

How the Pennsylvania ghost town of Centralia came to be known as the real Silent Hill

A fading memory of town is all that remains of Centralia, Pennsylvania. Its earth is hot to the touch as smoke billows past the surface and into the air, blotting out the sun. Gnarled streets and empty lots are strewn in graffiti, commemorating the bitter absence of all life. This desolation, laden with sinkholes and trash, is the result of a coal vein set ablaze more than half a century ago.

There’s too many factors at play. With that said, every now and then a game pops up that I truly cannot lay any significant fault at - and one such release is Dinosaur Polo Club’s Mini Motorways.
