Atlas is a new game from some of the developers behind Ark: Survival Evolved. Created by Grapeshot Games, a new studio founded by the creators of Ark: Survival Evolved, Atlas is a first-person (also playable in third-person) pirate-themed survival MMO with an ambitious scale. The developer boasts over 40,000 players in the same world, all exploring it simultaneously. Grapeshot aims to create massive-scale battles and a living world, which is where the scale comes in.

Borderlands 3 is hosting three weeks' worth of Arms Race Mini-Events. It’s Arms Race time in Borderlands 3, and you can participate in three consecutive week-long mini-events starting today, January 21. Arms Race is a roguelike experience that features randomized elements. In it, you are stripped of all your gear, passive abilities, and Actions Skills and dropped into a zone where you’ll have to get loot or die trying. The action takes place in the Stormblind Complex which is a decommissioned DAHL military base.

Starting this Friday, you will be to stream the Horizon Forbidden West score that accompanies your machine hunts, both in and outside the game. Guerrilla has teamed up with Sony Music to roll out the soundtrack on all streaming platforms, so you will be able to take your pick. The soundtrack will be released in three volumes. Volume 1 arrives this Friday and includes tracks such as Aloy’s Theme, a new take on her iconic theme for Horizon Forbidden West with vocals by Julie Elven, and In the Flood, a track featured in the game’s opening title sequence with vocals by Ariana Gillis.

Aroged (via GamesIndustry.biz) reported that Quinn Duffy, design director at Age of Empires 4 developer Relic Entertainment, announced his departure from the studio via a post on LinkedIn. He was at the company for almost 24 years. "At Relic, I had a passion for both history and the real-time strategy genre. GTA 5's latest mod lets you control the in-game phone with your real-life iPhone. Reddit user Planetleak wanted to see if he would succeed in getting his iPhone to control the phone in GTA 5. He did it and has a video to prove it. It's not a mod per-se, but it emulates mouse and keyboard inputs using the phone's touch screen. Whatever you do on the iPhone gets sent to an Arduino webserver, which in turn sends these inputs to the game.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has one of the most classic and notable soundtracks in video game history. But in the latest 'definitive' release of the game, included as one of several games in Sonic Origins, its full and classic music won't be present. And with that confirmation, what was once one of gaming's most enduring pieces of development gossip is confirmed to be at least partially true. Crackers have finally managed to break Assassin’s Creed Origins' several layers of protections. Assassin's Creed Origins on PC has proven very challenging to crack, compared to other modern titles that also use Denuvo. Denuvo, itself once considered unbreakable, was cracked days after release with many recent releases, but not Origins. With some exceptions, Denuvo is no longer being seen as the ultimate answer to piracy on PC. But then Origins came along and Ubisoft decided to use another layer of protection on top of Denuvo version 4.
