Destiny 2's Trials of the Nine event went live yesterday, offering players the change to go 4v4 against other Guardians. The next Destiny expansion may well be revealed next week. Destiny: The Taken King is nearly nine months old now and we're eagerly anticipating news of what we'll see from Bungie towards the end of 2016. It's inconceivable that there wouldn't be a big content drop for either northern autumn or the holiday season, so we're expecting something along the lines of The Taken King in terms of size and scope.

The Warframe Devstream 161 has just concluded, bringing with it new information on the upcoming Angels of the Zariman update. This time around, we’ve gotten a solid April 27 release date for the patch, as well as a detailed look at the new Gyre Warframe as well as a variety of new features coming soon. Angels of the Zariman, which takes us to the Zariman Ten Zero ship directly following the events of The New War, brings with it a whole new hub for us to explore, as well as a story-critical quest that’ll establish what the player can expect in the future.

At its heart, Smash Bros is a multiplayer extravaganza - but Smash Ultimate's attempt to create meaningful single-player content may be Nintendo's best attempt yet. I want to slap a great big caveat on that headline and initial conclusion about the single-player offerings of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Switch - after all, I've only played about twenty minutes of each of the key single-player offerings in the game. Things could change over the course of many hours and these modes absolutely could outstay their welcome, but my initial impressions are clear - I'm loving this single-player mode more than anything since Melee introduced Adventure Mode and All Star Mode - and equally, in time Smash Ultimate's solo offering could well become my favourite in the series.

For Honor is getting a new hero in Season 2. The next update in For Honor will introduce a new hero to the game, as promised. On Thursday, Ubisoft revealed their identity for the first time, and sharing more details about them. The Kyoshin arrive in For Honor on July 22 with title update 2.0, which is essentially a mid-season update for Year 5 Season 2. The Kyoshin - joining the Samurai faction - are mystical warriors who fight with a concealed Shikomizue blade and its scabbard.

Deep Silver's parent company, Embracer Group, has confirmed Dead Island 2 is still in development, but it's not expected to be released until some point during the company's next fiscal year which begins in March 2023. A question regarding the game's development was asked during the Embracer Group’s latest financial results via a Q&A. The question was regarding whether the game has an official release window attached or not, and what we can expect from a title that's been in development for ten years.

Legendary art director Yoji Shinkawa has revealed that we might not have to wait long to see what Kojima Productions is up to. Kojima Productions has been fairly quiet since the release of Death Stranding. Though there have been some cryptic teasers here, and rumours of unsuccessful partnerships there, we're still not sure what Hideo Kojima and co. are currently working on. But, according to studio art director and Kojima collaborator, Yoji Shinkawa, the team's next project will be announced soon.

A new cinematic trailer has been released, showing off the upcoming Apex Legends season, alongside our first look at the game’s newest character. The new season, titled Saviors, seems to be coming with monstrous changes to Storm Point as that’s where the events of the trailer takes place. However, while an altered map is in the background, Newcastle takes centre stage as the star of the video and the 21st character to join the Apex Legends roster.
