Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version may be coming to Switch soon

A new datamine provides yet another hint that Resident Evil 3 may be coming to Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future. As spotted over on gaming forum Resetera, a title screen for Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version can be found almost hidden away on the same site you need to visit to launch the cloud version of Control on Nintendo Switch. After Nintendo announced both Control and Hitman 3 for Switch via cloud streaming yesterday in a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini, it's not really a shock to see more big games being lined up for the hybrid handheld/home console.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite coming to Xbox Game Pass in December

Aliens: Fireteam Elite – the co-op shooter from Cold Iron that launched earlier this year – is already on its way to Xbox Game Pass. After the title launched back in August this year, we heard from critics that it was OK – but that's a pretty good thing by games in the Alien franchise standards, right? You can check out the Alien Fireteam Elite reviews round-up at the link.

Crysis Remastered is available for these platforms now, and the remasters of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately.

New Need for Speed game also coming before the end of March 2018

Need for Speed helps round out a suddenly busier looking year for EA. Need for Speed will return sometime during EA's next financial year, which ends March 31 2018, the publisher said during today's financials. It's even possible the new Need for Speed may release in calendar 2017, as the publisher previously predicted. EA CEO Andrew Wilson said the untitled new racer boasts "ambitious and more competitive online gameplay", which presumably means even more connected features than past Need for Speed games like Rivals - perhaps something along the lines of The Crew or Forza Horizon.

Switch - household items, other devices could be causing Joy-Con wireless connectivity issues

Since launch yesterday, some Switch owners have reported connectivity issues when using the system's Joy-Con controllers. Nintendo has said something as simple as a microwave may be the culprit. Connectivity issues being reported when using Switch's Joy-Con controllers wirelessly include: characters moving on their own or not responding correctly; controllers responding intermittently; and controller losing connection with the console. The first and most obvious step is to ensure the controllers are charged.

15 of the Best Video Game Soundtracks [June 2022]

The amount of video games with soundtracks that slap is immense, and the list continues to grow. From atmospheric melodies to synthwave sounds and beyond, it can be quite whimsical how video games will often have you feeling affectionately towards genres of music or specific songs that you may have never given a second thought to otherwise. There are a mass of brilliant soundtracks out there, but which ones would we argue are the best of the best?

Metal Gear Survive reuses an entire MGS 5 map

While it's been tweaked slightly, Survive's demo is still the Afghanistan map from Metal Gear Solid 5. Metal Gear Survive reuses an entire MGS 5 map Have you wondered why Metal Gear Survive seems to have such a quick-turnaround compared to its predecessor, Metal Gear Solid 5? The answer is pretty straightforward: Survive is using MGS5's engine and mechanics as development shortcuts to push for a 2017 release. And while there's nothing wrong with that, fans have been taking a closer look at the latest gameplay trailer and noticed Survive is openly borrowing content as well, including an entire map from the previous game.

7 Best Switch OLED games that will pop on your new OLED screen

When it was announced I was sceptical about the new OLED Switch, but now having used it for myself I've realised how substantial an upgrade the screen is. The colours pop off the screen, it's brighter, has better vibrancy, improved colour accuracy, and really showcases how great looking some of the games on the Switch are. Best Switch OLED Games Not that I needed a reason to go back and play my Switch because I use it frequently, but this is the cherry on top to go and replay some of my favourite games, and even break down the backlog of some games I'm yet to finish.

The 7 best shooters of 2016

This year may have been sour in the real world, but when it comes to shooters, it's been a big winner. The shooter genre has had a banner year in 2016, both in terms of the number of shooters released and their high quality. What’s even more impressive is that most of them didn’t even have to release in the fall/holiday period, otherwise known as Shooter Season. Thanks to new games and classic franchise revivals, we’re ending the year with a very rich catalogue, one that includes different takes on the genre both in first and third-person.
