Nintendo tells Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Minecraft Steve to put his meat away in public

Nintendo has gone and... sanitised Minecraft Steve's victory screen in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Last week, Minecraft's Steve arrived in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It took just a couple of hours for players to figure out that one of his victory screens seems to show him holding his meat. We, as many others, thought it was pretty funny. Steve is indeed chomping on that steak just before he slots into frame, which only made things more hilarious.

As fans threaten a boycott, the decision-makers of Pokemon Go issue a pathetic response

This has been a momentous couple of weeks in the Pokemon Go community, and over the last couple of days it’s really come to a head. We’re used to seeing fan anger in video games - it doesn’t take much to set certain groups of gamers off, as we all know - but it’s rare to see such universal, coordinated frustration and disappointment in a developer that actually has solid logic behind it.

Here are Hitman's minimum and recommended system requirements

Hitman doesn't ask too much of PC gamers. The Hitman beta kicks off this week for those who've pre-ordered. If you're on the fence about buying in, knowing whether your PC is up to the job may aid in your decision making. The minimum and recommended specs don't differ too wildly. If you're still languishing in a last-gen horror pit with only 4GB of RAM and no DirectX 11 you'll struggle, though.

Guild Wars 2 server transfer fee to discourage casual changes

Although ArenaNet is happy to let you try out another server in Guild Wars 2, those who want to change loyalties permanently will have to cough up a fee. Speaking to PC Gamer, lead designer Eric Flannum said that the team wants players to choose their home server - World - carefully, as it determines both who they'll fight for in the MMORPG's epic World vs World multiplayer as well as what bonuses they'll receive for winning.

Red XIII is playable in Final Fantasy 7 Remake using a save editor

Thanks to a save editor, you can now play as Final Fantasy 7 Remake character Red XIII for a short period of time. The save editor was created by Xeeynamo, and while it is limited, it will allow you to manage your Final Fantasy 7 Remake inventory, materia, and character levels, according to SP1st, and allow Red XIII to be fully playable for a limited time. As the site notes, you can only use the character for a short time due to the party resetting after major cutscenes.

Skyrim Dragonborn DLC spells, story, enemies and locations leaked - rumour

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's next DLC is called Dragonborn and will let you ride dragons and go to Morrowind. As far as I'm concerned, that's all I need to know to throw my wallet at Bethesda, but alleged beta testers have offered a wealth of new information. Potential spoilers within. According to leaks posted to Reddit and collated by The Outhousers, the Dragonborn quest is available even if the main story hasn't been completed.

Townscaper is the latest surprise addition to Xbox Game Pass

Townscaper, a chill and very aesthetically-pleasing city-builder from Oskar Stalberg (whom you may know as the developer behind Bad North) is now available to play on Xbox Game Pass. Townscaper has long been something of a social media darling; if you mooch about games Twitter like me, you'll have seen it crop up often as other indie devs share little snippets of the towns and villages they've made. Buildings appear with a very satisfying 'pop' and the whole thing is more like a toybox experience than a traditional game.

Detroit: Become Human review - a pretty but hollow interactive movie

Going into a David Cage game in 2018 without some expectations is impossible. Love them or loathe them, Cage's games have a distinct style and that means we come to expect certain things, things that are all part of Detroit: Become Human. Detroit and developer Quantic Dream may have had bad press already, focused on the game's content and alleged working conditions at the studio, but none of that means Detroit has to be a bad game.

Lessons from an endless search for the perfect Gaming & Home Working setup

Maybe it was one of those crises inspired by major life events, but once I knew I had a baby on the way, I made a resolution: I was going to craft my ultimate gaming and home working setup, building one catch-all nerd goblin bunker so that my hobbies and work stopped spilling over into the rest of the house, where there’d soon be a tiny human tearing about. I knew my office was going to have to move to make way for the nursery anyway.
